Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, is a private, fully accredited four-year liberal arts university encompassing the undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences and nine graduate programs. Its 3,000 students hail from all over the United States and twenty-eight countries and are taught by the university's full-time faculty members.
The College of Arts and Sciences at Pacific University is recognized for its outstanding programs in the natural sciences, education, business, psychology, world languages, and humanities, as well as the superior preparation its students receive for the health professions and medical school. The core curriculum in the College of Arts and Sciences emphasizes writing, reasoning, and communication skills, with attention given to cross-cultural education and work in the natural sciences and the fine arts.
All freshmen participate in a semester-long first-year seminar program designed to introduce students to college-level writing and research expectations. In addition to placing an emphasis on research projects, internships, study abroad, and service, Pacific also offers a Senior Capstone Project-a year-long research project designed and implemented by the students, culminating in a presentation to the university community.
Pacific University in Forest Grove offers forty-two study-abroad programs in twelve countries, and has an agreement with the Oregon University System that gives Pacific students additional study-abroad sites. The university also provides many opportunities for service, both on campus and within the broader community, related to Pacific's undergraduate courses and clubs and organizations.

Pacific University's College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and College of Optometry are located in Forest Grove (population 20,000), about 35 minutes from downtown Portland, Oregon.
Students living on campus reside in one of five residence halls or the Vandervelden Apartments. The University Center houses the dining commons, a new lounge, the student government offices, computer lab facilities, the campus radio station, and the newspaper office. The Pacific Undergraduate Community Council (PUCC) funds more than sixty student interest groups. In addition, Pacific Outback provides outdoor activities to students and trips to Portland-area events. Pacific University also has an active Greek system.
Pacific is a member of the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference, and offers twenty varsity sports for men and women. Athletes train and compete in two facilities. One, the Pacific Athletic Center houses a gymnasium, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a field house, handball/racquetball courts, a dance studio, a wrestling room, and a sports medicine training facility. The other, the Lincoln Park Athletic Complex, features a 1,100-seat stadium with a nine-lane, 400-meter track; a FieldTurf soccer and lacrosse field; a Bond baseball field; a varsity softball field; and other park amenities.
In addition to the Forest Grove campus, Pacific University has a campus in Eugene, Oregon, serving the needs of the College of Education. The university also operates facilities in Portland that support the College of Optometry and the School of Professional Psychology. The Pacific University Health Professions Campus is located in Hillsboro.
