Campus Living and Activities
First-year freshmen live in residence halls in spacious, secure rooms, each with a private bathroom. Students may move into the Commons, NSU's newest residence hall, following freshman year. They may step up to the fully furnished upperclassman apartments, complete with full kitchens and living rooms, in their sophomore year.
NSU offers students a broad range of organizations, student government, intramural sports, and campus-wide events. Greek life at NSU includes about 10 percent of the undergraduate student population, with a total of 5 fraternities and 6 sororities on campus.
The university's highly praised Distinguished Speakers Series features experts and notable persons from diverse fields who share "life lessons" and career experiences with students. Speakers have included Salman Rushdie, Spike Jones, Bob Woodward, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, and Vanessa L. Williams.
Sharks and Dolphins
The Nova Southeastern University Sharks compete in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as members of the Sunshine State Conference. NSU offers 17 intercollegiate athletic programs, with 10 women's and 7 men's teams.

Financial aid for NSU students is available in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and veterans' benefits. Work-study programs may also be available for eligible students. Students seeking financial aid should complete the Federal Student Financial Aid Form (FAFSA).
Campus Surroundings
Broward County is one of 3 counties that comprise the South Florida metropolitan area. The area boasts many natural attractions and points of interest. Davie, home to NSU's main campus, has a rural atmosphere, western theme district, and sprawling educational complex, all of which distinguish the town from all other neighboring municipalities.
Characterized by green open spaces, numerous parks, and over 165 miles of trail system, the town is also the hub of higher education in South Florida, where several nationally known colleges, technical institutes, and universities make up the South Florida Educational Center.
